5) Does your bed partner hear you stop breathing, gasp for air or choke while you are sleeping?  yes  no

 

6) Have you recently had an excessive weight gain?  yes  no

9) Do you have excessive daytime sleepiness?  yes  no

 

The only way to definitively diagnose sleep apnea, is to have a Polysomnogram, or overnight sleep study. These tests are performed by sleep specialists at a clinical facility for neurodiagnostic testing like Carolina Sleep Medicine, Inc. Brain waves, eye movements, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, electrical activity of muscles and heart rhythm are measured and continuously recorded in order to give a complete picture of sleep cycles and stages.
